The Police Training School is an institution dependent upon the National Directorate of the Public Security Police.

The Police Training School stands now where the old facilities of the Regiment Calvary nº 1 were in Torres Novas.

The Emblem of the Police Training School is coated with a heraldic character and symbolism, which faithfully represents all the values and attributes by which this institution is governed.

Students are advised to use warm clothing due to the climate conditions in this region..

On October 25th, 2010, the Management Course on Police Projects commenced, with the participation of 15 trainees.

On October 13th , 2010, the closing ceremony of the 18th Course of Criminal Investigation took place, with the participation of 150 police officers from various commands.

On October 25th, 2010, the 4th Defensive Driving Course took place, with the participation of 10 trainees.

On the 4th to the 19th of November, 2010, the Technical Expertise and Administrative Licensing of Arms Course took place at this School, with the participation of 19 trainees.

From the 13th to the 15th of July, 2010, the PSP Internal Shooting Championship took place, with the participation of 23 teams (four element teams) of all the PSP commands. The standings.

From the 2nd to the 12th of November, 2010, the Private Security Course took place with the participation of 12 trainees.

On September 24th, 2010, the II National Forum of Technical Police took place in the Public Security Police Training School in this city of Torres Novas, with the presence of distinguished guests and speakers including the Hon. Deputy National Director of the Operations and Security Unit , Chief Superintendent Jose Guilherme Guedes da Silva.

On September 22nd, 2010, a visit to this Establishment of Education from a delegation comprising of 22 police officials, with Board and Management duties, from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique and Sao Tome and Principe took place. This visit was mainly aimed at providing a view on the mission, organization and operation of the Public Security Police Training School.
